Behavioral Health Clinic
What is a structured outpatient program?
An SOP is outpatient treatment provided at a higher intensity of services than traditional outpatient. It is a wonderful alternative for patients who need higher level than outpatient but cannot commit to days or weeks in an inpatient setting away from family, work, or commitments.
Who can benefit from the new clinic?
Clinic services are available for those 55 and older who suffer from: depression and anxiety, unresolved grief and dealing with losses of all types, loss of appetite and poor sleep, feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness, difficulty managing ADLs, suffering from delusions or isolations.
Where is the clinic located?
The new clinic is open Monday through Friday, in the former Dr. Luis Soriano medical office on Duncan Road.
What does treatment entail?
Patients attend the program up to 5 days a week, up to 3 hours a day. Treatment might include both group and individual therapy, as well as medication management. A licensed psychiatrist provides oversight and direction.
Does insurance or Medicare cover the cost?
Treatment is typically well-reimbursed with few denials. It is truly a lower cost to the patient as it saves out of pocket cost, reduces lost work days, or a child care expenses.
Will people know I am getting treatment?
Treatment is entirely confidential. Because treatment is on an outpatient basis, the patient will not disappear for days for treatment. Treatment can be scheduled into your normal workday, with no need to explain gaps during treatment.
