Last year, Pocahontas Memorial Hospital health care providers purchased brand new coats to be donated to each of the county schools. This year, PMH wants to expand their efforts and is holding a county-wide coat drive to help community members who might not have a warm fall or winter coat. We encourage anyone who would like to help to donate new or clean, gently used coats for the coat drive. Coats of all sizes are needed.
Coats will be accepted through September 25 when all items will be delivered to the Pocahontas County Family Resource Network, who will then distribute coats countywide. The FRN provides information, resources, and referral services for children and families. Services are voluntary and available to all families who might be interested. Parenting classes, child development, recreation, emergency assistance, and monthly food pantry programs are all part of the FRN’s current offerings.
If you would like to donate a coat, please bring it to the Pocahontas Memorial Hospital Radiology Department. If you have any questions, you may contact 304-799-7400 ext 1305.
